West Virginia State Penitentiary, Wheeling, WV, May 8, 2007 —
Defenshield Handheld Riot Shields (NBS) are a popular equipment request at the annual OLETC Mock Prison Riot in Wheeling, WV. Each May, corrections officers from around the country gather to try out new equipment for tactical use in corrections settings.
Feedback from the event has led to the expansion of the NBS product line to include longer shields (48") as well as capture style shields for cell extractions and inmate encapsulation.
