DEFENSHIELD HISTORY

Defenshield was founded in 2002 in response to the need to protect security personnel in airports after September 11, 2001. The ballistic shield produced to meet this need was the Mobile Defensive Fighting Position (MDFP). Since then, Defenshield MDFP's have been deployed around the world and are saving the lives of a diverse range of customers including the U.S. Marines, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, U.S. Naval Observatory, in courthouses, at military bases, on ships, and at nuclear facilities.

These days Defenshield designs and produces a range of custom armor and transparent armor solutions including Barrier Caps, SafePoint Mobile Security Stations, SandBag Windows, SafeDesk armor for courthouses, FEMA-spec Hurricane Windows (resists a 2x4 piece of wood traveling at 100mph), .50 cal resistant Guardhouse Windows and frames for permanent construction buildings, and replacement window kits for the Cadillac-Gage Peacekeeper vehicles in use by many law enforcement agencies.

All products provide solutions to ballistic protection and security needs, have unique features which distinguish them from other products on the market, and are built to specification. Custom engineered solutions to specific needs are also available.
